I really swear that our baby would live in the water if you let her. She simply loves it. When she was super tiny in the beginning, she hated most things water, but after a few months, I took her in the shower with me and she fell in love. It was all over after that and she begs to get in and play with water anytime that she sees it. I couldn’t wait until the weather warmed up so we could get in the pool together. I knew that with Skibbles obsession last year with swimming, that it was going to be so much fun with both of them together.
Then, the baby broke her leg.
Obviously, we were devastated to have this happened. We had been planning a trip to a local amusement park and we would be going to the water park there. Her break happened two days before we were leaving on our trip. TWO DAYS! Naturally, the water park was out of the question. The doctor told us four weeks and I don’t think I’ve ever wished for 28 days to fly by faster. Fast forward to Tuesday and we got the go ahead from the doctor to remove the cast and we were good to go!
Finally! Swim time! We literally made plans to head over to a friend’s house 2 hours after getting the cast off. I wish everyone in the world could have seen her face light up when she realized she got to go into the water. So many meltdowns had happened over the prior 4 weeks with her not being able to get into the bath/shower with her sister. Luckily, for her, the wait is over.
Even though I know she loves the water, I was nervous how she would react to a HUGE pool of water. Would she be intimidated or confused? I definitely didn’t want to do anything to frighten her, so we were super excited to use our SwimWays Baby Spring Float. She had the most adorable grin on her face for almost the entire time we were in the pool.
She was really happy with the float too. It gave her the support she needed to feel confident, while still being able to play in the water that came through the mesh. I loved the canopy on the SwimWays Baby Spring Float since she won’t keep a hat on her head. It makes me feel safer about the sun rays she’s being exposed to while we are outside.
