A year and a half ago, I started blogging as a way for my family to keep up with my pregnancy and to share recipes that my friends and family kept asking for, but it grew into something much bigger and more exciting than my dreams could have imagined. I started reviewing products and offering giveaways and as we’ve grown I have found myself rarely ever having to ask for product because I get so many requests every day from companies. That’s the honest truth.
What’s more honest, is that as more review items arrive at my door, I find myself less excited, and quite simply burnt out. Wanting to be transparent with my readers always, I feel like, I need to say this. Sometimes blogging simply sucks.
Yup, I said it. It does. I spend countless hours editing, proofreading, answering e-mails, updating social media and for the past few months, I have simply just hated it. So what does that mean? No, I’m not going anywhere! But…
It’s a brand new year. And I’m going to get back to doing what I love. Yes, I’ll still bring you reviews and giveaways, but on a limited basis. We do have prior commitments to get through so this month there may be more than future months. But importantly, I’m going to start sharing what I want to in the beginning.
So, I hope you stick around. We are excited for these changes. Excited to share recipes, and our parenting “advice”, and who knows what else along the way. Let’s start with some beautiful pictures of some other changes that we’ve neglected to share with you over the last few months.
Baby Skibbles turned one in November. She’s the brightness of our lives and simply a joy to be around.
I am officially the smallest I have been since high school. I thank my success mainly to breastfeeding, but also changing our eating lifestyle. This was the first in more than 10 years one of my New Year’s resolutions wasn’t to loose 20 lbs, because frankly, if I did, I would be all bones.
Baby Skibbles is turning more and more into a Daddy’s Little Girl. She has him completely wrapped around her little finger and we are both in awe of her love towards us.
I’ve never publicly shared a breastfeeding photo before this one. But I have lately felt the strong conviction to make it known that we are still breastfeeding. Baby Skibbles is almost 14 months old and there’s no end in sight. I love the unique bond it has created beyond us.
Thank you for your honesty. It will be nice to read your upcoming posts! Have you thought about a guest blogger or two to do the giveaways so you can focus? Congrats on 14 mo+ breast feeding. Beautiful pics.
I have thought about adding some, but I'm still just not sure at this point! Thanks ๐
Hahaha! I can remember feeling that way about college! Got to the point where I just had to force myself to show up. All I could see was the fact that I was spending a lot of money and most of my time studying.
Oh, I felt like that about college on too many occasions HAHA
Yay! Personally, I think it's a great idea to take a break from reviews/giveaways all the time and get back to writing what you enjoy. This is a bit selfish on my part, I guess, because I will be honest and admit that I get burnt out on seeing some blogs turning into completely review/giveaway oriented ones. Giveaways are great, but I like to some some content and personality too! ๐
Absolutely! Thanks for sticking around!
