“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Weleda. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. All opinions and reviews are my own.”

Having eczema and/or sensitive skin is something that no one wants to really deal with, especially when it literally interferes with your everyday life.  But it’s a reality for a lot of people, including myself.  I’ve dealt with mild to extreme cases of eczema since I was young and as I have became an adult, it’s actually gotten worse.  I typically know my triggers now, but they aren’t always avoidable for me.  I was shocked to learn that up to 20% of infants can actually suffer from eczema, which then decreases to 3% for adults and older children.  What was even scarier for me to learn was that between 60-80% of children will inherit eczema from their parent.

I know just how annoying eczema is for me and it’s not something that I want for my babies to go through either.  So far with Skibbles, she seems to have mild outbreaks very, very rarely, but I have noticed that she does have very sensitive skin when it comes to using certain products.  While I try my best to make sure she isn’t exposed to certain ingredients in body products, sometimes when we are say visiting Nana. Although, even some natural products that we have tried in the past have even irritated me.

I was excited to learn and then try out Weleda baby products on Skibbles.  I had never heard of them before, but they touted natural skin care that soothes and nourishes baby’s skin.  The first night I used it, Skibbles has a slight irritation on her belly.  I loved how soft the lotion made her skin feel and by the next morning the irritation was completely gone.  We have continued to use the Weleda products on her skin and she hasn’t had any skin irritations since.  Better yet, when I have used it myself multiple times a day, I have noticed a huge improvement in my own eczema.  I love that I can continue putting the product on both of us and it’s helping us.  It is slightly greasy if you put too much on (you only need a little) or if not rubbed in completely.

Weleda has been creating plant-based products since 1921 and features fragrance-free products that soothe sensitive skin. The White Mallow Body Lotion is 95% organic, the face cream is 97% organic, and the diaper rash cream is 86% organic.

I also love that it’s ideal even for newborn babies.  With our second due in just a few weeks, it’s perfect to know I can keep using Weleda on all of us!

Weleda is sold at Whole Foods Market, select natural health food stores, buybuyBaby and at the Weleda website. Head to their website now and use WELEDABABY for 20% off your purchase, good through June 30, 2015.
