Bamboobies Reuseable Nursing Pads Review & Giveaway

January 11, 2013 by Larisha Campbell 35 Comments

About the company:  Bamboobies was founded by a nursing mother of three from Boulder, CO who was in need of a more functional and stylish solution to her breastfeeding needs. She realized that she was leaking through pads, even thick washable cotton pads and tired of having leak through spots on her shirts. Disposables were expensive and not eco-friendly.

I knew pretty soon into my pregnancy, that I was going to try to be as eco-friendly as possible (hence the reason we cloth diaper). I had heard about reuseable nursing pads, but hadn’t given it too much thought since it seemed like I couldn’t find them in any stores to be able to compare.  Then I heard about Bamboobies.  At first I laughed at the name because my first thought was of Emeril Lagasse saying “BAM! Boobies!” But they are seriously awesome. I also was looking for a cost effective solution to disposable pads.  The average women spends over $250 on disposable pads during the course of her pregnancy; whereas you can get a 3 pack of regular Bamboobies and 1 pair of overnight for a total of $29!!  That’s an amazing difference.  With all those savings you can definitely afford to buy a couple extra and put in your next baby shower gift basket for a new mom.
Bamboobies makes the thinnest and thickest pads on the market.  I received the Regulars to review which you can see below are the thinnest compared to other brands.
Even though they are ultra thin, they are super absorbent since they are made out of cotton, bamboo velour and hemp. Which by the way make the softest breastpads I have and I love how they feel when I wear them.  When I use them, I have never once had a problem with leaking.  After several washes they are still just as soft as ever. I actually really like the heart shaped design as well as their entire color selection that consists of black, pale pink & hot pink. To me the heart shaped design gives it a little womanly touch to make us feel great while wearing them, but actually it’s to help contour without wrinkling.
I really do love the way these feel and work

Cons:  My only complaint is that I have a very soft non-padded bra and when I tried both the regulars and overnights (that I was gifted) in with this bra you can see the pads through my shirts. I have had no issues with my nursing bras that have even a little bit of padding though.

Buy It:  You can purchase on-line HERE.  2 Pairs cost just $16.99. Or visit their store locator to see where you can buy them in store.  BAMBOOBIES HAS ALSO GENEROUSLY ASKED TO SHARE A 20% DISCOUNT WITH ALL READERS!  JUST USE CODE WPNJ20 AT CHECKOUT!

Win It: One lucky winner will receive a $16.99 credit which is enough to buy 2 pairs.  WINNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING. Just fill out the Rafflecopter form below. This giveaway will be open until 1/26/13 at 12:00am EST
