JuJu Organics Salon – Philadelphia, PA

September 28, 2014 by Larisha Campbell Leave a Comment

*Disclosure: We received complimentary service in exchange for this post.  Thoughts & opinions are our own.

We were recently invited to JuJu Organics salon.  To be honest, I’d never heard of an organic salon and even though it’s 30 minutes from our house, we decided to check it out! JuJu Organics is tucked along a quiet street in Philadelphia, but inside the atmosphere is nothing shy of a friendly neighborhood party.  There was a chalkboard sidewalk sign outside the store, where one side said Never Grow Up and the other side said Fall in Love with yourself!  I absolutely loved the positive affirmations of both.

The event we went to at JuJu Organics was in the evening, so I was taking a big risk being so close to Skibbles bedtime. The sunset drive across the bridge from Jersey to Philly was stunning and gave me a little hope.  Luckily when we got there Skibbles found her friends from Fourth St Payphone and Thirty Is The New Prelude.  Aren’t they just adorable waiting for their own manicures!?  Skibbles also found an entire bowl of nail polish that kept her busy for awhile.  Thankfully (and surprisingly) she didn’t break any of the bottles!

I was able to get an eyebrow wax.  If you’ve seen me lately, you knew how desperately I needed this. (left is before, right is after). I wanted my eyebrows to stay natural, but they needed a lot of work.  Juliene, owner of JuJu Organics was actually the one to do my eyebrows and she was amazing.  They use soy wax for all of their waxing.  I felt so much better knowing that a natural product was going on my face instead. I think they turned out amazing.

Then it was Skibbles turn for a manicure.  I knew this was going to be incredibly fast and really just be a little polish on the nails.  Skibs did amazingly well and the nail tech that assisted us was extremely patient and kind.  We had an absolutely amazing first experience.

We would highly recommend their services and the experience that you get, all while knowing that the safest of products are being used on your skin.

About the Salon: JuJu Organics opened in 2005 in the Queen Village neighborhood of Philly. Owner, Julie, wanted to create a salon where customers felt comfortable, healthy, and cared for, thus becoming the first wholly organic salon in the Philly area. They are on the cutting edge of all-natural, non-toxic, and organic professional hair, skin, and body products and services.  All products used in their shop can be purchased through their on-line store as well!
