Moby Wrap Review & Giveaway

January 28, 2013 by Larisha Campbell 38 Comments

About the Company: Moby Wrap Inc., was started when parents were looking for the perfect baby carrier. Moby is made from the softest of cotton fabrics and distributes baby’s weight evenly on the wearer. Moby is currently made in Thailand, but Moby founders ensure they emply salaried staff who have generous wages, bonuses, and healthcare. They have been in production for over 10 years and just realized the new Moby Go, a soft structured carrier.

I had never heard about “babywearing” before I got pregnant.  All my new mommy friends kept telling me, “You have to get a Moby”.  Thank God I have good friends! I was pretty excited to try out my Moby since I honestly I had no idea what all the hype was about.
Let me start by just throwing it out there, this is my new go to baby shower gift.  Seriously, ever parent needs one of these. The picture above is me wearing our daughter in our Sienna Moby wrap at just one week old.  She’s now over 9 weeks and it’s still just as amazing.
When I received the wrap it was bundled up in a super soft package.  I thought it felt so nice.  I pulled out my Moby wrap and instantly fell in love.  It is just so soft.  There have been time I have even used it for a blanket when I don’t feel like moving.  It’s just that soft.  The package also came with super helpful instruction manual that gives a few options of how to use the wrap depending on the age of the baby. Honestly, I don’t know if it was my super tired self after giving birth just a few days before, but when I first tried to use it at one week postpartum, I just could not figure it out!  So we had daddy come to the rescue!
As you can see below, he had a much easier time figuring it out the first time and then it completely made sense (again I’m blaming it on my mommy brain).

Let me tell you wait, there’s nothing better in the world than seeing daddy wear the baby! He loves that he has a way to bond with her and feel like she’s so close.  I love the fact that I can actually get so much done with it.  I feel like I am now a Moby wrapping pro and can get it done in less than 2 minutes usually.  There would be many nights that dinner wouldn’t get done without our wrap.  The baby has a fussy time right around when I need to start dinner, but as long as she is in the wrap we good to go no matter what. Because of the length, Andrew & I can both use the same carrier which is a huge benefit! You do have to be careful because the ends easily touch the ground, but it’s just a small price to pay if you and your partner can wear the same carrier, plus it’s machine washable & dryer safe so you don’t have to worry at all!

I also have worn my Moby in the store or around the mall, and it’s wonderful not having to lug out a stroller and carseat plus try to maneuver through the aisles.  My only downfall about our wrap is that because of the super soft cotton material, it does get pretty hot after awhile when a little furnace, I mean baby, is attached to you.

Buy It: You can purchase wraps and accessories from Moby HERE.

Win It:  One lucky reader will win a Moby wrap in their choice of in stock color. Just enter the Rafflecopter form below.  This giveaway will be open until 2/13/13 at 12:00am EST. Open to US only! Good luck! a Rafflecopter giveaway
