I’ve been making my own graham cracker crust for a long time now.  I love the way it tastes and my ability to really control the ingredients.  As time has gone on though and we are trying to be healthier everyday, I realized that even though I was making homemade crust, it wasn’t organic, nor did it always have ingredients that we liked.  We avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup at all costs and it’s in many graham crackers.  So what’s a girl to do?

Sure, if you have stores like Whole Foods, you have a selection of options available, but that’s not always possible for everyone.  In my case, Whole Foods is just out of the way for me in last minute situations.  I was in Target trying to find an option when it hit me!  Why not use Annie’s Bunny Grahams?  They are graham crackers after all just in a different shape.  So, it was decided.  We’d try it out.  I found them in my store and then I was faced with which option I wanted to go with.  I was looking for the chocolate ones since I was making a peanut butter pie, but my store was out so I went with the Bunny Friends, a mixture of honey, chocolate, and chocolate chip bunnies.   I later found out that Annie’s makes actual Graham Crackers and that could be used as well, but I didn’t see those in our store.

Ingredients:
1 – 6oz bag Annie’s Bunny Grahams
1/4 cup unsalted, organic butter, melted

Directions:
Add the entire bag of Bunny Grahams to a food processor and blend until fine crumbs.  Pour the crumbs into a 9-in pie plate.  Pour the melted butter on top. Blend until well combined. Press down and evenly spread mixture out along the bottom of the pie plate.  Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown, careful not to burn. Cool completely before filling.

*Note: This can be done with any of the Bunny Graham line of products. Six ounces will be enough to cover the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate.  If you want the crust to go up the sides, double the ingredients.

I’m excited to try this with the other flavors of Bunny Grahams, too!  Snickerdoodle crust anyone!?
*Disclaimer:  While I have worked with Annie’s in the past, this recipe is not sponsored by them.
