Seventh Generation Diapers & Wipes Review + #FreeYourBaby Contest to Win 6 Months of Diapers

June 7, 2014 by Larisha Campbell Leave a Comment

I’ll be honest, disposable diapers is one of the areas where until recently I really sucked at making the best decision.  We primarily cloth diaper, but there are occasions where I use disposables. I know that Seventh Generation is one of the most widely available “green diapers” on the market.  I know every time I walk into Target I see them right on the end of the aisle. So I was curious how they would stack up!

For more than 25 years, Seventh Generation has been manufacturing plant-derived products that actually work to clean your home. They want their products to make a difference from development to disposal and are constantly working to reduce their environmental impact.

Diapers– We received two packages of Stage 4 Diapers.  This stage fits children 22-37 pounds.  Overall, I’m extremely impressed with the Seventh Generation Diapers.  They fit well, had great movability, and stretched on both the legs and back are for better comfortable.  My biggest plus with these diapers is that there is no smell!  I loved taking them out of the package and not hit with a fragrance cloud of chemicals.  This is huge to me because I felt like I was failing her every time I got a whiff of that nasty chemical smell and then put it on her bottom.

There are 0% bleaching chemicals in their diapers and are the First FSC® Certified Diaper made in North America.  They know that baby’s skin is super sensitive so that’s why their Free & Clear Diapers are absorbent, free of chlorine processing, synthetic fragrances, and lotions.
Diaper Features:
  • Super Absorbent
  • Premium Fit
  • Free of Fragrances, Inks, and Petroleum-Based Lotions
  • Totally Unbleached Absorbent Core
  • Snug, flexible fit for better protection
  • The First FSC® Certified Diaper
  • Uses 10% less water, energy, and trees to make their diapers
My biggest downfall is that we have had a few leaks, but I’m not 100% sure that it isn’t user error.  She’s just at 24 pounds, so she’s right on the edge of being in between a stage 3 and a stage 4.  I went with the bigger diaper sizes because we don’t use disposables that often, but I think she could really use the Stage 3 right now.  In addition to that, she has also recently figured out how to stick her hand down her diaper or remove it completely, so who really knows.  This didn’t happen often, so I’m confident in the diapers working.

Wipes – Again, we don’t use many disposable wipes because I use cloth wipes; however, we had been gifted a lot of different brands of wipes when we had our baby shower, so I have tried many different brands. I am absolutely in love with these wipes from Seventh Generation. They are thicker than most wipes on the market and quickly and easily cleaned up any mess that I need them for.

Wipes Features:
  • Soft and Strong
  • Free of Synthetic fragrances, dyes, parabens, phthalates
  • Hypoallergenic
