The board is 20″ wide x 15″ deep x 2 1/4″ thick made from hard rock maple edge hardwood, it also comes with a 7″ forged stainless steel carving fork and a 7″ Santoku knife.
There are hand grips on either side of the board that were easy for my small hands to easily grip the board, as well as Andrew’s larger hands. Even though the board is heavy, as long as I was using the grips I never had a problem with carrying the board. Of course Andrew being Mr. Tough Guy, would never admit if he did have a problem, but he did comment on how nice it was to have grips on the sides that and how comfortable it is to carry the board with them.
The grooved surfaces are deep and hold a substantial amount of juice. Whether you are cutting fruit or you marinated your meat to go out on the barbecue, this feature saves so much time, because let’s face it, Dads *probably* aren’t going to be the ones cleaning up the mess. I have never had a cutting board with this feature, but I’m thrilled that we do now. It has seriously made cutting up anything such a breeze, including watermelon!!
