Diggerland USA Opening in Berlin, NJ

June 5, 2014 by Larisha Campbell 2 Comments

Huge power equipment, lots of dirt, and a ton of excitement.  What more could you possibly ask for to get your children geared up for an exhilarating fun time? Probably not much. I have to admit that when I first learned about Diggerland USA, that my inner tomboy childhood personality came out and I was squealing like a 8 year old boy again.

**Disclosure:  We were sent two media passes in exchange for writing our thoughts here today.  All opinions are our own and not influenced by any other factors. Links contained in this post take you to Diggerland website.  We do not receive compensation for you clicking on these links.

We were invited to Diggerland USA‘s Media Day to check out what it was all about and I was blown away.  Diggerland USA is the first construction themed adventure park in the United States.  The first Diggerland opened in the UK in 2000, and three additional parks have been built in Europe since then.  Families can drive, ride, and operate heavy machinery in a family-friendly environment.

The owners of Sahara Sam’s Oasis announced just 6 months ago on January 14th, 2014, that they were create the new park and set to open June 14th, 2014.  There are over 23 attractions across 14 acres of land.

With names like Operation Battle Truck, Backhoe Adventure, Mini Land Rovers, Dumper Trucks, Giant Diggers, and Sky Shuttle, Diggerland just sounds like a ton of run. Whether you are low-key fun or want heart-pounding excitement, Diggerland has you covered! Check out all the rides here.

In addition to the construction themed rides and attractions, Diggerland USA also have an arcade, rock climbing wall, and ginormous playground set.

Additionally, they also have a Ropes Course.  At four stories tall, this obstacle is actually the tallest ropes course in the world.  Hope you aren’t scared of heights if you decide to check this one out!

While Diggerland is sure to be fun for lots of children, most rides would be best enjoyed by a child 48″ in height.  While there are things, like Kid Zone for smaller children, we believe this would be the perfect place to take an older child for a special day away!  Many of the rides can be rode, with an adult, as long as the child is 36″.  Skibbles, at 18 months, is tall for her age, and just about 5 inches short of this height.

Cost:
Diggerland will cost $29.95 for a Full Day for anyone over 36″ in height if tickets are bought on-line.

Children under 36″ and Senior Citizens are FREE.  Discounts available for good grades, military, your birthday, and more.
If you have a season pass to Sahara Sam’s Oasis, you can get $8 off your full day ticket.
They also have group rates and packages for Birthday Parties!

Hours:
For most weeks, Diggerland USA is open —
Sunday – Friday they are open 10am-7pm and Saturdays they stay open until 8pm.
Please check the website for hours on the day you plan to go.

Don’t forget! Diggerland USA opens 6/14 at 10am!  Do you have your tickets yet!?

We took some great videos while we were at Diggerland and hope you check them out. First up, Skibbles loved the music that Diggerland Plays and I got this adorable video of her dancing!
The Dig-A-Round Ride is Diggerland’s version of a Carousel and completely adorable.
Spin Dizzy spins and lifts you up and down and made me inner roller coaster junky freak!  It looks like such fun!
