This year has been absolutely incredible.  I’ve been blogging for a little over two years now, but it wasn’t until the last 6-8 months that I really got serious about this being a viable source of income for our family and me staying at home.  I’m awed everyday that I log into my computer on the back end and see that people are actually reading my posts.  It’s still such a foreign concept to me, but I couldn’t have done it without you all actually reading!  I’ve decided to create a list of my Top 8 Posts from 2014!  Enjoy 🙂

In addition to these being our Top Posts, we also had some other magical moments

  • We published our 1,000th post this year
  • We became an ambassador for Boba and Tommee Tippee
  • We were the Top ticket selling blogger for MommyCon
  • We created an award winning recipe for Johnny Rockets, our Berry Banana Milkshake
  • We more than quadrupled our PVs over last year, with over 290,000 pageviews this year
So what were our Top Posts?
Our Chocolate Peanut Banana Lactation Boosting Milkshake (smoothie) was our top views post with over 50K views to date.  This was almost as many views as we had all of last year.  We were blown away by the response and this will definitely shape the types of recipes that we post next year!
This was one of the first ti’m’es that I had posted about a social issue that had been near and dear to my heart.  Not only is publicly shaming breastfeeding mothers infuriating, but as a formal retail security agent, this story really struck me.  Unfortunately, Sears never publicly apologized to the mother and were very apathetic in their response to the situation.  We’ve called to boycott them and their companies, and haven’t stepped foot in any of their brands since this happened.
I actually make this Peanut Butter Apple Pie Lactation smoothie almost everyday when it’s warm out. I’d love one right now, but it’s hard to drink something cold when I’m already freezing! I love it though! I’m thinking that I should make peanut butter apple pie lactation cookies as another alternative too! Yum!

See the trend with our top posts!?  Lactation everything!  Don’t worry if you want more, we are preparing a whole series of lactation recipes for the new year.  These lactation energy bites are delicious and a great source of protein even if you aren’t lactating.  Give them to a new mom!

Anything with Skibbles in it, is near and dear to my heart.  We participated in a Pampers campaign where we had to write an open letter to our child.  No idea this would be a popular post, but it means a lot to me that people took the time to read what I had to say to my girl.  I hope she reads it in the future and knows how important making me a mom was to me.

I was so jealous I didn’t know about how to make Homemade Whipped Topping (aka Homemade Cool Whip) before I figured this out, but not surprised this was one of our top posts.  It’s simple, delicious and so much healthier for you.

As I’m purging our house right now, I’m not encouraging anyone to be a hoarder, however, this was one of our favorite projects to work on this year.  As you get ready for spring gardening consider how you can reuse old food containers for mini greenhouses and watering cans without spending a dime!
We make this Baked Cheesy Broccoli & Rice Casserole A LOT.  It took me awhile to find a recipe I really loved, but now that I have this one figured out, it’s a keeper! It will make even the pickiest green eaters ask for seconds!
We hope you enjoyed this list of our top post this year and would love it if you would pin any of the images to Pinterest or share them on Facebook if you want to remember them for yourself! Leave a comment below letting me know what was your favorite post of the year (even if not on this list) and tell me what type of things you’d love to see us post about next year!
Have a great and prosperous new year!
