Let me Re-Introduce Ourselves

Since the baby has been born I’ve done a pretty crappy job of actually “blogging”. It’s been all reviews and giveaways and while I’m sure you appreciate that, it’s not what I started blogging for and I miss actually writing. With yesterday being the blog’s one year anniversary I made myself commit to at least one non-review type post a week. And while yes, I’m sure I will miss a week here and there, I’m going to do my best.  The last time we gave an update the baby was 3 months old. She is now 6 months and growing like a weed!

We have grown a lot in the past year. We went from 0 Facebook “likes” to almost 5,000 and have almost 400 e-mail subscribers…so I wanted to just take a moment to “re-introduce” ourselves, especially for those that haven’t been here from the start.


I’m Larisha. I’m the writer and person behind making sure all this runs. I originally had the idea of blogging from a childhood friend and wanted to start blogging to keep my family informed of what was going on during my pregnancy. Then, there’s Andrew. My fiancé and the “behind the scenes” man of the blog. He does my graphic design work and some other technical website things. He loves when I get him things to review but moans every time I need him in a pic! The most important person is Baby Skibbles. No, our daughter’s name isn’t Skibbles but its our nickname for her and our way of protecting her privacy from the Internet. We love it so we hope you do too!

Enough about us…let’s share what our blog is all about. The focus is on parenting, our style. We weren’t ready to be parents, (hence the title We’re Parents!?) but we have embraced it every day since we found out. We consider ourselves semi-crunchy becoming more crunchy every day. We are breastfeeding, cloth diapering, baby led weaning, co-sleeping, naturally minded type of family. We don’t judge families that aren’t like us but this is what works for us (and a majority of our close friends).

We are excited to share more about our choices and decisions that we are making over time and hope you stay around to join us and share your experiences as well. Next week, I have decided to share my birth story. It’s near and dear to my heart and I hope it inspires someone else that didn’t(doesn’t) believe they can have a natural/unmediated birth (because I never thought I would)!
