deep sea gelatin cups for kids

It’s no surprise that our family is constantly in the kitchen.  I’m pretty sure that we spend at least 50% of our days in there doing something. Usually, I’m attempting something new that get my kids excited about what they are about to eat and mixing it in with some sort of educational aspect so that we are learning. I knew that these Deep Sea Gelatin Cups would be a hit because our toddler, Skibbles, absolutely adores anything relating to water. Add in the sensory fun of gelatin and, naturally, she went a little overboard in the excitement department.

We started our day by reading about the ocean and the different layers of the sea. We go to our local aquarium often, so she’s no stranger to learning about the ocean animals, but we never really delved into learning that there are different layers of the ocean and what each layer holds.  We had such a fun time learning together, but it was time to get into the kitchen and learn visually and by taste.  I grabbed our Samsung Galaxy Core Prime phone and turned up the music so we could dance while making our three layers of gelatin.

Once we threw the gelatin into the fridge to harden up, we grabbed our phone and found some videos using the internet.  It’s stress free for me because of the unlimited data that is offered.  The Walmart Family Mobile PLUS offers unlimited Talk, Text, Data with 10GB 4G LTE PLUS a free movie on VUDU (new release rental – $7 value) every month, per line for just $49.88.

DING!  The timer went off to tell us the gelatin was ready. Off we went back into the kitchen to make our layers. First up, we used graham crackers to imitate the sea.

Then we added some of our Swedish Fish.

Next was our layers.  Deep dark blue, lighter blue, and then white. Placing our Swedish Fish between each of the layers.

Then it was time for fun! We grabbed our finished products, and to Skibbles surprise, we had set up a movie lounge in our living room!  It was time to watch one of her favorite movies!  NEMO! We found it on rent from VUDU and with our Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan it was FREE! It was awesome to just play it via our AppleTV so the whole family could watch on our TV.

It was the perfect ending to this day and even better is that we didn’t have to pay for the movie!

For the first time ever the starter kit will be on rollback for $19.88 (from $25). Now Walmart Family Mobile helps you save even more money when it comes to setting up your service. Plus! Swedish Fish is on Rollback too for just $4.48 in it’s New Look! Same Fish packaging! The Samsung Core Prime Phone was just $79.92! Head over to the Walmart Family Mobile Social Hub and see when an in-store rep will be available to help you pick the best phone for your family (Bonus: They’ll even have Swedish Fish samples!)
