When we went to the website this time around we noticed that there had been some incredible awesome changes. Moving In, Creating Memories

First, sorry we were really not around this weekend. If you have been following our blog for awhile now, you may remember when I announced back in May that we had bought a house. We were beyond excited to have been able to find our dream house. What you didn’t know though is that in order to make it “live-able” we needed to do some renovations. So for almost the past 6 months, we have been living with my in-laws while our home went through renovations, including a brand new kitchen. In any of you have been in this situation, I’m sure you had the same feelings, beyond grateful for the opportunity to stay with family, but desperately desiring to have your own space again. Friday, we were given the go ahead to move in to our home, and no lie, I had all our of bags packed in less than 3 hours.

We spend our first night at the house and we all woke up refreshed and re-energized, ready to tackle the mountain of boxes sitting in the garage. We got a few hours done before deciding on Saturday that we needed a break to go to Ikea. By the time we got home, it was late and we decided to call it a night and turn in early. Sunday when we got up, Baby Skibbles went over to the window and looked out for a few minutes. She kept looking at us and smiling. It’s an amazing feeling knowing that you are able to provide opportunities for your children to learn and grow.

I told Andrew that we really needed to get things unpacked and there would be no surprise trips. Unfortunately, Baby Skibbles had other plans and she wasn’t letting us get anything done. In my last attempt before giving up until the next day, I handed her a box with bags inside. I did so knowing that she would just eat the cardboard, as it seems that’s her favorite food group. However, she actually started pulling all the bags out, and I actually got stuff put away! She would empty it, I would put them back in, and the process would repeat. It allowed me for at least a solid hour of getting stuff done, which we all know is the equivalent to 5 hours in mommy time.

We have to stop and take a second to thank all of our amazing sponsors. You see, most of our review items went to our house, which was 30 minutes from where we were staying. Our review time more than tripled and we are still playing catch up. Our brands have been more than understanding and I couldn’t thank them enough! I love products that have dual uses simply because I don’t like extra products taken up space and making clutter in our new home when there’s a products out there than can serve the same purpose as two baby items. I love that the bébéPOD®flex plus is both a floor seat and a booster chair that can be securely attached to a chair.

There are straps on both the back and bottom of the of the bébéPOD®flex plus seat for attaching to a chair and then straps on the inside of the seat to securely place your child inside the seat.

We really love that it’s also a fully functioning booster seat with a tray that easily slides into the seat.

Not only that but the tray features a built in toy function (toy included) for even more time for play. An included matching placemat is also included. which is great for eating or storage.

I wasn’t expecting Baby Skibbles to actually sit and play with the toy, but she did! For a long time I might add. I was actually able to cook dinner while she sat and played with it, which is amazing for any mom! The straps and tray should be used with the seat at all times until the child is able to get in and out on their own.

We like simple here. Having a small baby I don’t have a lot of time to do installations and set-ups, so I was beyond thrilled when I pulled this out of the box, saw that it was completely assembled, and all I needed to do was pull off the plastic so I can start doing the necessary adjustments.

I have to admit, it’s just a beauty to look at all around. There are cloth and leather material to give it the ultimate luxury feel for your little ones new car seat. The metal frame is reinforced with steel for extra stability and maximum protection. Not only was it easy to set up, but getting it out of the box was a breeze. At just 18 pounds, this car seat is so much lighter than I was imagining it was going to be. It is even equipped with a handle bar at the top for easy lifting and minimum impact to your body.

So what’s my favorite feature? It’s one of the first things you will notice when you are looking at the Elite 80 Air + 3-in-1 Car Seat. There are color-coded belt paths and installation labels to install quickly and correctly. Everything is so clearly and concisely labeled to correspond with each color. Green for rear-facing, blue for forward-facing, purple for belt-positioning (keep reading for more info on belt-positioning). Even the manual is color coded so you know exactly where to turn too depending on how you need to install the car seat. Extended rear-facing is a huge plus for us and this car seat can rear-face up to 40 pounds! Then, it can used forward-facing until 80 pounds!

Of course before I put the car seat in the car, I need to make sure all of the straps were probably adjusted. It was easiest (and recommended) to do this inside, so that’s what we did. Located underneath a small flap at the front of the car seat is a push button that allows you to instantly adjustment the shoulder straps. I was impressed by how simple it was to do. There are 3 different buckle positions, and either the first or second position must be used with rear facing. It was very easy to remove and switch to the correct position for Baby Skibbles. Now, unlike most car seats I have seen, there is only one shoulder strap slot. At first, this concerned me because I was confused about how it would properly fit. Luckily, I was just have a “mommy moment” because I quickly read the manual to figure it out!

The headrest is actually adjustable in ten (that’s right, 10!) different positions and when adjusting the headrest you adjust the shoulder straps as well. For anyone that has ever had to remove shoulder straps to put them into a different slot while absolutely love this feature. I have gotten beyond frustrated and annoyed with trying to remove and re-insert straps on other car seats, but with the Safety 1st Elite 80 Air + 3-in-1 car seat, it’s the most simple push of a button ever.

Baby Skibbles surprisingly cooperated as we made the proper adjustments in the house before installing into the car. We love all the room that she still has to grow into her brand new car seat.

Safety 1st has, in our opinion, done their absolute best to make the Elite 80 Air + 3-in-1 Car Seat as “dummy proof” as possible and with that comes incredible labeling on either side of the car seat. It actually features a total of four different reclining positions that can easily be adjusted by pulling the red lever on the back of the car seat. To know which position is best, there are two red lines on the side of the car seat (one for rear-facing and one for forward-facing) that tell you how best to align the car seat.

A 5-point harness and support cushions (select models only) are just two more of the amazing features that you will get with this amazing, safety-inspired car seat.

There are also Push button Latch and Tether options available based on your car’s manual for installing car seats, and when not in use they both have clip storage places on the bottom of the car seat. I actually love this because we aren’t able to use them right now, but typically they are just left dangling after falling out of the spot that was supposed to be holding it in. With clip technology, they never move from their storage location!

The purple coded features on the car seat are for the belt-positioning option. Once your child has reach 80 pounds, you are able to continue using the car seat with the car’s seat belt up to 100 pounds! How’s that for safety!

Baby Skibbles actually was quite intrigued by the car seat and sat playing with it for awhile before it was time to install. Now, only if she would play with her toys for this long, I may actually be able to clean the house!

Installation into the car was an absolute breeze. Because of the color-coded technology there was no guessing exactly where the seat belt needed to go. As you can tell in the picture above, on the left, this car seat actually fits up very high in the car allowing your child to see more than they typically would in other car seats. Because rear-facing is that best option for your child, this is a great added benefit.

With everything properly installed, it was finally time to go! Baby Skibbles, Andrew, & I all agree that this is one incredible car seat. The safety features alone are worth every penny knowing that your child is going to be protected by full impact side protection. We highly recommend the Elite 80 Air + 3-in-1 car seat to everyone!

Gymboree Clothing Review

In addition to Gymboree clothing stores, they pride themselves on high-quality apparel and accessories at Gymboree Outlet, Janie and Jack, and Crazy 8 brands. They also offer play programs known as Gymboree Play and Music. They began with the Play & Music in 1976 and in 1986 added the apparel business as well.

I have to admit that when my first niece was born almost 8 years ago, I loved going into Gymboree and buying her clothes. They had the absolutely, most adorable pieces among all the other children’s clothing stores. In addition, the quality of their clothing was superior to other stores as well. I knew that it wasn’t going to fall apart after just a few washes and that’s what made me keep going back. Now that I have my own little princess, Gymboree is one of my favorite places to shop for her clothes. They can be a bit pricey but when you hit one of their incredibly sales that is almost always going on (Like Spend $50, Get $25 Back) how can you really go wrong!

We were sent a generous gift card in order to facilitate this review. I was impressed by the customer service that I received the entire step of the way and just how smoothly everything ran, from receiving the gift card, to making selections on-line, to actually receiving my order, everything was above par. I decided to do my shopping on-line since it’s just easier for me to do that now with the baby. When I first when to the site, it was a bit overwhelming. I mean EVERYTHING is so adorable, how do you just pick a few pieces?!? Luckily, the have an amazing system set up that gives you suggested outfit pairings and then all items from that suggestion are lined up underneath. We fell in love with the Smart Little Lady collection, so most of our choices came from there.

I love actually being able to continuously see my cart while I shop, so I know what else I’m looking for. It’s a great tool to have at your fingertips.

Like I said before, checkout was a breeze. I received a confirmation number, as well as an e-mail and then additional e-mails letting me know when my order had been shipped. Gymboree has an incredible communication system set-up that always made me feel included.

When I got our package, I quickly noticed all of the packaging had the size we ordered on it. I love this because it’s easy to quickly check to make sure the right size was received before opening the packaging. Baby Skibbles was really excited about her new clothes!

We were able to get so many adorable pieces, including a hat, dress, two outfits, and hair accessories. I really can’t speak highly enough about the amazing quality of Gymboree clothing. It’s just that good. I love that because we picked pieces from one collection we can mix and match them to create even more outfits. They have a thank-you card management system which saves you time. For two years after your wedding date your registry is active and you get 10% off remaining items for 90 days after the wedding. Extra perks if you have a Macy’s credit card which gives you 10% back in rewards dollars for everything you buy and 5% back for everything someone else buys!

#5- Kohl’s! There are over 1,000 stores and you can use kohls.com too! Store credit is offered for returns without receipts and your credit never expires. Registry is active for one full year after wedding date and you get 15% off for 90 days after event. For signing up, you will get complimentary announcement cards that give all your guests 15% off their purchase who spend $50 or more!

#4- Target! Best news is they have 1,700 stores as well as an awesome website at target.com that allows you to update anytime. Gifts are returned for cash if you have the receipt or store credit if you don’t. The registry only remains open for 90 days during which you also receive a 10% completion discount. #3- MyRegistry.com is a universal registry website that allows you to add any item from any store onto one central location. You just have to add a toolbar to your internet and you can instantly add an item while you are searching any site. If you have an iPhone or Android device you can download a scan app that allows you to scan and add items to your registry while you are out shopping, this includes local mom and pop shops or Etsy shops.

#2- Amazon.com! The leading on-line store in the world! Their registry offers bonus completion gifts from certain vendors, the ability to add items from any other website with the installation of google chrome, and free shipping on orders of $25 or more (restrictions apply). They have pre- set-up guides of what top items to register are for each room in your home. They do not offer a completion discount, but you can leave your registry open indefinitely.

We both registered at BB&B for so many reasons!
First, they have over 950 stores across the US as well as on-line registering to allow changes to be made at any time. Your registry remains open for two years after your wedding date and for 90 days after your wedding you get a 10% completion discount! They even have a perks program where you get extra incentives for registering certain items and even more if someone actually purchases it! Because they have so many fantastic items, there’s something in everyone’s price range. We love that they offer the convenience of on-line purchases with so many stores across the country. It truly is the best place to register!

We absolutely love our incredible Dreambaby products that we already have and were thrilled to receive their 15th Birthday Prize Package to see what they considered their top ranking products. Once again Dreambaby didn’t fail us and reminded us why they should be our go to for safety equipment when it comes to Baby Skibbles. Below is just a brief recap of some of the amazing products that we were sent!

It’s almost time for Baby Skibbles to start using utensils herself, but for now, I just love being able to stick her spoon in to know if it’s too hot or not. It immediately starts to change color so there’s no questioning before you put it in baby’s mouth.

The toy bag is the perfect size to hold all our toys right now while not making a huge mess all over the bathroom. We are in love with the bath and room thermometer. I’m terrified one day I’m doing to scold her little legs in the bath tub so I love knows if the water temperature is the right one of not. It’s also pretty darn adorable!

The sun visor can clip onto any surface. The handle bar above your car window is ideal, but it can also go on your stroller! It has a UV checker built in for you and there’s no question that it blocks out the sun for us!

The Flex Lock is perfect for keeping cabinet doors shut while not worrying about screwing anything into your cabinets. One of the things we were most excited about was the GroHangers. I couldn’t believe how easily they expand and that they expand enough to fit both my clothes and Baby Skibbles clothes on a hanger.

Lastly, we were most excited about the Warning Sign. We have wanted one of these for awhile even though Baby Skibbles is to young right now. iI’s super lightweight and can easily fold back down for storage purposes.
